The annual plenary meeting of the Committee for International Cooperation between Cotton Associations (CICCA) convened on September 30, 2005 in Liverpool under the chairmanship of Mr Jerzy Kotwas, Poland.
One of the most important issues on the agenda was the sanctity of contracts in international cotton business. It was decided that – through an amendment of the by-laws – CICCA shall be enabled in the future to publish the separate list of the companies, who have refused to participate in arbitration.
The assembly decided to take up the African Cotton Association as new and 15th member of CICCA. The China Cotton Association representatives took part in the meeting and they will also participate as observers in future CICCA meetings.
Mr Hilton Lobb (ACSA, Australia) was appointed as new Chairman.
