On 18 May 2012 in Sopot, the annual General Assembly of the GCA members was held. The Assembly endorsed the Board of Directors’ report on their activity in 2011, the 2012 budget was passed as well as directions of activity and main tasks to be realized in the current reporting period.
In the Directive Resolution, the GCA reminded about the necessity of supporting the Polish sector of textile-clothing industry in the light of changes triggered by globalization, recession continuing on developed markets and cyclic disturbances on the raw material markets.
Mr Wolfgang Vogt-Jordan – the former President of the Bremen Cotton Exchange took floor as the Guest of the General Assembly. He underlined the good, many-years’ cooperation between our Associations, and he expressed hope for its continuation in the context of establishing the ICA Bremen Centre for Cotton Testing, Research and Quality Related Issues.
President of the Polish Chamber of Flax and Hemp, Mr Marek Radwański warmly thanked the GCA authorities for supporting the PCFH initiative of revitalization flax in Poland, by means of establishing the national programme: “Innovative Polish Flax”.
