Indian Government has decided to lift all Export Restrictions on Cotton Yarn as of today (1st April, 2011). The contracts will still be subject to registration- which existed already before the Restrictions were imposed in December 2010. The official Notification from the Indian Government (Notification No.  40 (RE-2010)/2009-14 New Delhi, Dated  31st  March, 2011) was sent by the Commission Delegation in India.

The Restrictions on Cotton Fibre remain in place for the time being. European Commission and European organizations (Euratex, Eurocoton) will continue to work on trying to solve this issue as we did with the Cotton Yarn.
