Discover Natural Fibres Initiative (DNFI)

The Discover Natural Fibres Initiative (DNFI) is a global platform that brings together stakeholders from across the natural fibre sector to exchange knowledge and experience. DNFI’s mission is to promote the shared interests of all natural fibres in the face of growing competition from man-made fibres, to raise awareness of the advantages of natural fibres, and to facilitate the dissemination of information on innovative technologies.

The Initiative was founded by representatives of 15 natural fibre organisations, continuing the collaboration that began in 2009 during the International Year of Natural Fibres (IYNF), proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in recognition of the contribution of the natural fibre industries to the global economy, the environment, and to the well-being of consumers and producers around the world.

DNFI works to highlight the qualities of natural fibres as biodegradable, renewable and environmentally friendly raw materials, promoting sustainable methods of their cultivation and processing.
