Our mission
The mission of the Gdynia Cotton Association is to create an economically and structurally strong cotton sector in Poland, as well as on the international arena, by means of supporting activities of its members and other institutions, authorities and organizations interested in cotton.
The GCA carries this mission out acting as a cooperation and consultation forum in the scope of issues pertaining to production, turnover, processing, quality testing and settling disputes, considering cotton as well as ready-made goods and semi-product made thereof.
The mission of the Gdynia Cotton Association is also to cooperate with companies and organizations representing producers, processors and traders of products made of other natural and chemical fibers that are climate and environmentally friendly – in activities for the development of a sustainable economy.

Our goals and tasks
The main task of the Gdynia Cotton Association is to take actions to fulfill the professional interests of its members and within the common interest of our members – to promote, support and improve the production, marketing and processing of cotton, cotton-like raw materials and other textile raw materials as well as semi-finished products and finished products made from them.
Pursuant to § 10 of the consolidated text of the GCA Statutes – adopted by the Resolution of the 82nd Ordinary General Assembly of the GCA Members of May 27, 2022 in Gdynia – in the frame of our activity our Association:
- supports activities to develop the textile and clothing industry and shape legislation implementing the sustainable development goals,
- represents of the economic and social interests of our members before the state authorities and administration, local government bodies and other organizations,
- addresses, in the field of the textile and clothing industry, GCA members, the Polish government and Parliament, international institutions and organizations, as well as economic and political associations of countries, including the European Union, with initiatives, opinions, assumptions and draft legislative solutions,
- shapes and disseminates the principles of ethics and good practices in business activities,
- initiates and supports activities for the development of entrepreneurship in modern organizational, commercial, technical and technological forms in the textile and clothing industry,
- undertakes work aimed at developing the technology and economics of production, marketing and processing of cotton, cotton-like raw materials and other textile raw materials and semi-finished products and finished products made from them,
- initiates and conducts activities in the field of establishing the conditions and principles of purchase and sale contracts for cotton, cotton-like raw materials and semi-finished products and finished products made from them,
- ensures the functioning of a permanent Arbitration Court along with quality arbitration,
- appoints permanent or ad hoc problem committees,
- organizes and conducts cotton experts courses and other specialized trainings,
- collects, establishes and publishes information on:
- global production, processing and trade of cotton,
- quotations of value differences for cotton,
- the economic and social situation of the domestic and international textile and clothing industry.
